Camera fun!

Image
I had some fun tonight trying out my 50mm lens on these three crazy munchkins! They were a little wild but I got some cute pics nonetheless :)  I saw a photo of my cousin's daughter with a homemade quilt and thought I should do the same with the quilt little E's Grandma made her :)  I was really hoping the clouds would part just a little for some beautiful later in the day sunny shots but I had no such luck...

My Sweet Niece

Image
I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing my beautiful niece this past weekend!  Welcome to the world little one :) I'm so excited for my brother and sister in-law!  Welcome to this crazy world of parenting!  The photo below is my absolute favourite! Thanks for having such a precious baby you guys :)

Sweet Baby Girl

Image
I had the pleasure of taking some newborn photos for my friend this past week. She has two boys and this sweet baby #3 was a GIRL! This lovely babe slept so soundly for a good hour and a half. I just love her lips :)  My friend had some great suggestions for photos that I had never tried before and she had some props that worked out perfectly, so we gave it a try! I'm really happy with the results :) What do you think? Here are a few of my favourites....

Tea for Two!

Image
Our little gal has turned two. Whoa! We had a sweet little tea party to celebrate this special day. There were Macarons, lemon cake, mini quiches, fruit, scones, and sweet tarts, YUM! I'm so thankful my mom was here to help me out :) We tried to keep it fairly small by only inviting the munchkins closest to her age and I'm glad we did. It was relaxing and a nice reminder that little ones don't need a lot to keep them happy - bubbles, food, trampoline and no organized activities was a nice relief :)  My mother in-law helped me search for tea cups at thrift stores so the little ones could pour their own tea in to real tea cups :) I'm so glad we found enough as a lot of the kids enjoyed this. We made up some green tea for the kids that tasted like Pear-lychee Ice tea too! Jumbo bubbles! Some of the ladies and I :)  Sneaky cake eaters! My lovely mother and a tray full of sweet dishes :)

Tea Party Anyone?

Image
Can I just say that I love toddler photo shoots? This little gal of ours has some spunk and it makes photographing her super fun. For her birthday we are going to have a little tea party to celebrate so I thought I would do a few photos with that in mind.  I pulled out a few special items for the pics. She's wearing a vintage dress I bought in Ladysmith at The Vintage Rose  last year, the pearl necklace I wore at our wedding, one of my Grandmother's tea cups. and the sweet bunny quilt my mom made for E. It helped that there was a slight breeze and some lovely evening light :) You would never guess from these photos that she loves to hit, climb up the highest parts of the playground so she can jump off, yell NO and run away smiling :)  Can you tell that she had her hair in pigtails all day...? :)

Six!

Image
He's how old? Wow.. I know I'm going to be doing this every birthday for each child.. but wow, time flies! This year we had a lot of fun planning our big guy's sixth birthday, a SPY birthday. All of the kids got rearview spy glasses and secret agent badges. We offered them stick on moustaches but not all were interested, they definitely were a bit itchy.  Overall I think everything went pretty well :) The kids all had fun except L did say afterwards that he was disappointed in the taste of the fake cake :-p Oh well, you can't win em all.  Our three secret agents :) Love them!   Let the fun begin! Secret Agents begin training! The bomb cake I made by icing a balloon with whipping cream. The knife! 'L, now that you are six you can cut your own cake'. BOOM! He wasn't too impressed with it not being a real cake but definitely surprised! We had hid a clue under the balloon that let the kids know that the real cupcakes had been stole

A lovely February

Image
This February has been so lovely. A little cold some days, sunny and warm the next. On weekends H often has his nap in our bed so that L can enjoy his room and his lego. I think this day was a school day but when I came to tuck him in to his bed I found him in our bed again :) He says it's cozy. I took this photo when I went in to wake him up. He sure does love that blanket! E loves the swing these days! My sweet hubby at the beach :)  The silhouette of these too :) They had so much fun exploring the beach and throwing rocks. Sparkles!  The kids had a so much fun creating a little fort in an old stump.  He looks so much like the old photos of his father in this photo. Those teeth! Gotta love sweet baby morning hair
