I'm so happy to say that I have been catching up with my mommy friends a little more lately. For a few months there I felt fairly out of the loop and a lot of things were fuzzy in my brain(might blame it on sleep deprivation:-p). Anywho, there have been several play dates, mommy nights out, and a spa and lunch date coming up that I'm super excited about! I love my husband to bits, he gives me awesome advice and is always there to listen and help me out, but he's not a woman, nor a mom, so I am loving the time I have with my friends lately. There was a good chunk of time in my life where I felt like I wasn't super close with anyone and craved a good friend, and now I feel so lucky to have many :)
The kids of course have been growing like weeds as per usual. Hudson is now sitting up on his own with the occasional head bonk/nose dive. He seems to be so much further along then Landon was at this age. We may be in for some trouble later on when he learns to crawl in a month and walks before he is 1.. eek! He's just as smiley as ever but he also has quite the screamer in him. Jeff was away last week for work and I just about pulled my hair out as he was over tired from being woken up(lightest sleeper EVER!) and I just didn't know what to do anymore! Kids are puzzles!
Landon is growing up so quickly as well :( It's exciting and a little sad at the same time. Just in the past two week or so I've noticed a huge change in the way he asks questions. All of a sudden he has started asking questions in a different way and has started replying with some pretty in depth (for a 2 year old) responses. Plus just this morning he was playing with an old keyboard and told Daddy he was going to go on Facebook and Skype.. yowzer :-s
Remodeling? More like re-decorating! Or.. change? I've been working on sprucing up the dining room and living room with some new fabrics and frames. I purchased some Robert Kauffman fabric online so I could make my own pillow covers for the living room and curtains for the dining room. I'm going with a grey, yellow, and light blue pallette. I'm halfway done the curtains and only finished one pillow cover, but I've also stuck some new frames on the wall & the piano in the dining room. I love photos and I just need more of em :) Check out the pics below for a progress shot.
Anywho, that's all for now. Thanks for reading :)
The curtains I'm making are a fun yellow pattern that will hand on either side of the piano.
We've been watching the beautiful humming birds from our dining room every morning and night as the stock up on sugar water.
My mini and not so mini cupcakes! YUM!
