So Many Changes!

Over the past month or so Jeff and I have seen so many changes in our little munchkin.. it's ridiculous! Around the 16 month mark he began walking and since then he gotten quite confident at walking, crouching, and stair climbing. He has started repeating everything, and quite clearly too! He's turned in to a little person.. answering questions with yes or no (even in the middle of the night when he wakes up!).

All of a sudden he has grown up.. which is nice I guess, and exciting, yet boy oh boy did it go by quickly. Baby fever is upon me! Not just because I loved the early months but also because I can't wait for Landon to be a great big brother. It doesn't help that a bunch of our friends are expecting. So happy that some of our friends will be joining us in parenthood :)

I'm itching to be able to post a few family photos of us that we had taken a week and a half ago but I have yet to receive any...
Hmm, what else is new...

My good friend Jen that I did the teaching program with back at SFU came to visit us this weekend and to run the 1/2 marathon. She ran it this morning and finished in a great time :) It was so nice to have her here. Right before Jeff and I moved to the Island we stayed with her and her parents for a few weeks while in transition and it felt like old times by having her here. I wish she lived a heck of a lot closer.

This weekend has been quite relaxing as we didn't have any big dinner plans with family... yet I am missing everyone a bit tonight. Oh well, we'll just take this weekend to relax, hopefully get some sleep, and save our family visits for another day :)

Here's a photo of our little walker at his future Elementary School playground : )

I'm going to be a mommy!

Well, if you haven't heard yet, now you know! I'm 24 weeks along in my pregnancy with our first bundle of joy. So far the pregnancy has gone pretty well. Luckily I did not have any morning sickness, instead of throwing up food, I inhaled it. You know how some preggos lose weight at the start of their pregnancy? I did the opposite and piled it on. Oh well, it's a healthy amount and if I didn't eat I would feel nauseous.

Jeff and I have decided to go with a midwife for several reasons and so far have had a great experience. I've had all of my blood work done and went in for the ultrasound at 19 weeks. We are so thankful that both the blood tests and ultrasound came out great! We got to see our little bean moving around and made us really think.. wow.. there's something alive in there! :)

So far the last 3 weeks have been the best weeks of the pregnancy. I have quite a bit more energy and I look pregnant. The only complaint I have is SLEEP! Or, lack thereof. I guess my hips have been swelling up like crazy and causing sciatica. Within 5 minutes of lying down on my side my hips fall asleep (like you sit too long cross legged), and then I usually wake up in the middle of the night with horrible pains in my hips, fun times! Thanks to Jeff's bright idea of icing them before bed I have minimized the pain and am sleeping a bit better.

The newest occurrence with the pregnancy is Braxton Hicks contractions. I had no idea that these could occur so early in the pregnancy, and thought it was common to get these when you were about 9 months. I guess not! They're just the tightening of my pelvic muscles and usually don't hurt. However, they have been hurting for me and usually take my breath away. I guess i'll be somewhat prepped for the real deal?

Anywho, that's all for now. Thanks for reading!
